Our Cottage
Yardarm Cottage is renovated to a high standard and designed with guest comfort in mind. We provide initial supplies of tea and coffee. There is a shop close by where you can top up on essentials during your stay.
Downstairs
With two lounge spaces and a large kitchen downstairs you’ll be spoilt for relaxing space. Our first cozy lounge area has a sofa and lounge chair with fireplace, books, magazines and stereo system.
The second lounge area has a large corner sofa, television and several board games for entertainment. The kitchen is a light and airy space, fully equipped with a nespresso machine, microwave, two ovens and other kitchen essentials so guests will feel at home. Our large, reclaimed wood table provides a focal point where everyone can gather round.
Outside
Portnahaven is a stunning looking fishing village on the most south-western tip of Islay. It’s a village from a picture postcard where the fishing boats land their catch and the seals bask on the rocks in the sunshine.
The villagers are very welcoming and friendly and are happy to share some stories of the old days when their main trading route was overseas to Ireland.
From the top of our back garden you can enjoy a sunset view over the Atlantic and from the front of the property you can relax with a cup of tea or a dram, and chat with the locals
